BioBridge – Bio Innovation Hackathon Organized by K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology (KSRCT) Marabanu StartupTN About BioBridge BioBridge is a bio-innovation hackathon designed to bring together students and innovators to address real-world challenges across biotechnology and allied domains. Participants will work in teams to understand biological challenges, develop innovative and practical solutions, and demonstrate their potential for real-world impact. The hackathon brings together biology, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship across healthcare, drug discovery, bioinformatics, agriculture, food technology, environmental biotechnology and emerging bio-innovation areas. Hackathon Themes & Problem Statements BioBridge features 36 problem statements organised across seven thematic tracks. Each problem statement has a unique code that should be used when submitting the Round 1 proposal.

Theme 7: Open Bio Track Code Problem Statement BB-OB-01 Biological life support for space missions BB-OB-02 Biosafety compliance in college laboratories BB-OB-03 Regulatory pathway navigator for founders BB-OB-04 Authentication of herbal raw material BB-OB-05 Virtual lab for experiments students cannot access BB-OB-06 Wildcard – Your Own Bio-Related Problem Eligibility & Team Rules Open to UG and PG students from any discipline . Teams should consist of 2–4 members . Each team should register from a single college/institution . Every team member must provide accurate personal and academic details. Each team must designate a Team Lead as the primary point of contact. Each team can work on one problem statement . The selected problem statement will remain associated with the team during the subsequent stages. Hackathon Process Stage 1 – Team Registration Teams register by providing their team, institution and member details. Stage 2 –
Round 1: Idea Submission
Registered teams select: Theme → Problem Statement Teams then submit a one-page write-up describing their proposed solution. Stage 3 – Screening & Shortlisting The submitted ideas will be reviewed by the evaluation team. The top teams will be shortlisted for the next stage. Stage 4 – Build Phase Shortlisted teams will develop and refine their proposed solutions with mentorship and support. Stage 5 – Pitch Deck Submission Teams will submit a pitch deck covering their solution, development progress, market/business potential and go-to-market approach, as applicable. Stage 6 – Jury Evaluation Shortlisted teams will present their solutions to the jury.
Evaluation will consider: Technical Feasibility Business Viability Impact & Sustainability Clarity of Pitch Stage 7 – Demo Day Top teams will showcase their working solutions and present their ideas live. Stage 8 – Awards The top-performing teams will be recognised and awarded based on their overall performance. Round 1 – Idea Submission Round 1 is the initial idea-screening stage of BioBridge.
