Evently lists community events. This page describes exactly what the site stores about you, why, and who else can see it. It covers evently.wiki only.
Account details.Your email address, a display name, and either a hashed password or, if you sign in with Google, an identifier from your Google account along with the email and name Google gives us. Passwords are stored only as Argon2 hashes and can’t be read back by anyone, including us.
Events you submit.Everything on the posting form: title, description, dates, venue and address, poster image, and the organizer name and contact you enter. Anything you type into a listing is intended for publication — see “What is public” below.
Optional profile details.Date of birth, gender, occupation, college, and city. Every one of these is optional, and you can edit or clear them at any time on your profile page. They are used to check whether you match an event’s stated eligibility criteria and to personalize your feed — nothing else.
Your activity on the site. When you are signed in, we record which events you open and what you search for, keeping only the most recent time for each distinct event or search term rather than a running log of every visit. This is what makes the “For you” feed work. It is never shown to other users or exposed through the API.
Approved event listings are visible to everyone on the internet, including people who are not signed in, and may be indexed by search engines. That includes the organizer name and contact details you enter, the poster image, the venue and address, and any eligibility criteria attached to the event.
Do not put anything into an event listing that you are not willing to publish. Your account email, profile details, and activity history are not public.
We rely on a small number of outside services, each of which sees only what it needs:
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We may disclose information if we are legally required to.
Account details, submitted events, and profile details are kept for as long as your account exists. Viewing and search history is currently kept indefinitely while your account is open.
Deleting your account deletes all of it— profile details, viewing history, and search history are removed along with the account. Events you submitted may be removed at the same time; if you want a listing taken down specifically, ask us.
We keep encrypted database backups for 14 days, so deleted data can persist in those backups for up to two weeks before ageing out.
If you are in the EU, UK, or California, local law may give you further rights over your data; write to us and we will do our best to honour them.
We set one cookie, which keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers on this site.
For deletion requests, questions about this policy, or anything else about your data, write to evently-quicksupport@googlegroups.com.
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you by email.
