The Editorial Board of the Economics Department of Miranda House , Arthashastra, is pleased to announce that we are now accepting themed guest entries for our blog, Ecotalker !! Theme: Economics is Political The world is raging, and so are we. Who fights the wars, why are governments run the way they are, who pays the price for bureaucratic inefficiency, and is protesting the answer? We are looking for thoughtful and well-researched articles exploring the nuances of political economy in the current global, and national, scenario. This, in addition to articles analysing the intricacies of public choice theory, the implications and evolution of economic thought, and independent economic analyses. The Process: Article ideas must be submitted through Unstop or sent to aapoortijournal@gmail.com by August 5th . This initial submission must include : a working title, a brief and specific description of your idea, the structure of the article, and a brief description of your approach you are planning to take (in around 200-300 words). If your idea is selected, you will be notified of the further process and be given a deadline for the submission of your piece. This call is for the month of September. The article will then be published on Ecotalker during the month of September after a peer-review process. Guidelines: We are currently welcoming long-form academic articles. (Word limit: 750-1000 words) Any data used must be sourced from reliable sources, mentioned clearly in-text and in the references section (APA 7 citation format). Entries must reflect independent and non-partisan thought, all arguments and opinions being supported by proper academic analysis. Entries may not necessarily revolve specifically around the topics mentioned in the description of the theme, but may be based on its creative interpretations. We do not encourage the usage of AI tools for the purpose of ideation and writing the article. However, if these tools are being used, we expect that the author be transparent with the Board regarding the purpose of their usage. Final articles must be submitted in Google Docs format with ‘Suggestions’ access given. Eligibility: Anyone with an idea and a will to critically, and economically, analyse the world is eligible to send in their ideas! Currently, we only accept entries authored by individual authors.
