About the Event Cosmicathon isn't an ideas-only hackathon. It's built around a three-stage filter test, validated problem solving, then a real 24-hour build, so that by the time teams reach campus, they aren't guessing at a problem; they've already committed to one and thought through why it matters. The overnight build round then forces the harder part: turning that validated idea into something that actually works and can be demoed, not just pitched. The format rewards teams who can move from problem to prototype under real-time pressure, not just teams who can talk well. Competition Format Test-based screening — filters for baseline aptitude across all registrants. Problem-video submission — selected teams submit their problem statements themselves. 24-hour on-campus build — filters for execution under pressure, in front of mentors and judges. Only teams that clear all three stages make it to the final scoring round. Full Timeline Round 1: Screening Test Date: 15th August. Test-based elimination round, open to all registered candidates. Round 1 Results Date: 16th August. Shortlisted teams announced. Round 2: Problem Video Submission Opens: 16th August. Shortlisted teams submit a video identifying a real-world problem within the given domains/tracks (to be announced). Arrival & Check-in Date: 21st August (Friday). Selected teams arrive on TIET campus; ID verification and kit distribution. Welcome Session Date: 21st August (Evening). Refreshments, welcome address, ice-breaker, and team check-in. Round 3: Main Event (Overnight Build) Date: 22nd August, 1:00 PM – 23rd August, 3:00 PM. 24-hour non-stop build; rules and final problem statements disclosed only at the start of this round. Judging Date: 23rd August (Afternoon). Panel evaluation, demos, and presentations. Results & Closing Date: 23rd August (Evening). Scoring, elimination, prize distribution, and closing ceremony. Technical execution under pressure: Shipping working code, hardware, or design overnight, with mentors available to unblock, not hand-hold.
