The Creator Colosseum Startup Competition is a global, online startup competition for students ages 13–18, organized by Creator Colosseum, a student-founded initiative focused on making entrepreneurship accessible at an early stage. The goal of this competition is to help student founders take real ideas seriously. Participants submit realistic startup concepts that matter to them and their communities, receive professional evaluation, and gain exposure to what it actually takes to move an idea forward.
The competition creates an opportunity to enter the Creator Colosseum Startup Incubator, allowing participants to receive one-on-one mentoring over a few months. This includes meaningful feedback, real-world validation, and personalized help from experienced entrepreneurs in fields such as marketing, business management, finance, AI, and tech. Whether your idea includes code, design, or a business model still being refined, this competition meets you where you are and helps you grow. The event is entirely virtual, free to enter, and designed to reward clarity, originality, and execution rather than polish alone.
What to Build Participants should develop a realistic startup concept that addresses a clear problem and proposes a thoughtful, practical solution with real-world potential. Startups may be software-based products, platforms, apps, tools, services, business models, or technical/non-technical concepts. The idea does not need to be fully built; early-stage ideas are encouraged as long as they show clear thinking, originality, and feasibility.
Submission Requirements Submissions must be formatted in a question-and-answer style covering: * A written description of the startup idea. * A clear explanation of the problem being solved and why it matters. * A detailed explanation of the solution and how it works. * A basic execution or business plan describing how the idea could realistically be developed. * Identification of target users or market.
These answers should be submitted in an attached document in the "Upload a File" request under the "Additional Info" section. If the startup includes a technical component, a link to a public GitHub repository demonstrating any code used is required.
Optional Components (Recommended) * A short pitch video (recommended 5 minutes) explaining the idea, problem, solution, and implementation. Slides are optional but should be included in the frame if used. * Designs, mockups, or prototypes. * Any additional materials that help communicate the vision.
Judging Criteria Submissions will be evaluated based on: * Effort and Work Ethic (40%): Is effort shown through the submission? Does the work demonstrate thought and measurability? * Feasibility & Execution (25%): Is there a clear, realistic plan? Do technical elements show thoughtful implementation? * Potential Impact (25%): How meaningful is the problem? Could the startup create real value for users or a community? * Communication & Clarity (10%): Is the idea clearly explained? Are materials easy to understand?
Prizes Winners receive the Emotion Machine sponsorship prize (worth $299) for 100 teams plus participation in the Creator Colosseum Startup Incubator, featuring professional mentoring sessions.
