Event Description: Dr. Saroj Gupta Paper Presentation is the flagship event of EconVista, the Department of Economics' annual academic symposium at Lady Shri Ram College. Through this event, we invite young researchers from across the country to present original research and policy proposals on how artificial intelligence is reshaping human capital formation and the future of work, in the context of India's aspiration to become a five trillion-dollar economy. The competition offers participants a platform to have their work reviewed, questioned, and judged by an esteemed panel of academicians and policy practitioners. The theme for this year is “India’s Five
Trillion Economy: Artificial Intelligence Shaping Human Capital and Future Workspaces”.
Rules: Each team must consist of 1–3 members. Cross-college and inter-departmental teams are allowed. Only undergraduate students are eligible to participate, regardless of their year of study.
Submission Format: Papers must be submitted in .doc/.docx format.
File name format: CollegeName_TeamName (e.g., LSR_TeamEcon).
Word Limit: 2,000–6,000 words, including references, tables, and figures, but excluding the abstract and appendix.
Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.
Margins: 1 inch on all sides.
Alignment: Justified.
Title: Sentence case, 14 pt, bold (Times New Roman).
Abstract: 100–300 words, placed after the title and author details. JEL Classification
Code & Keywords: Listed immediately after the abstract.
Research Integrity and Citations: Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Any copied content must be properly cited. Use the APA citation style for references. Provide full references for all prior work cited. Any foreign terms used should be presented in italics and explained where necessary. Highlight important points using bold text instead of underlining.
Tables and Figures: Tables and figures must be clearly labelled and placed in the relevant sections of the paper. Any superscripts or asterisks used in tables should have corresponding footnotes explaining them. All calculations must be included in the Appendix at the end of the document.
References and Appendix: All references must be listed on a separate page at the end of the document. The appendix should contain all additional calculations, supplementary tables, and relevant details. All pages must be numbered. The first page should include the title, authors’ names, and contact details.
Co-authorship and Special Cases: If the paper is co-authored with someone outside the department or as part of a research internship, include a footnote on the first page with relevant details.

Interdisciplinary Research Focus: Participants are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary themes in Economics, integrating insights from other fields such as: Behavioural Economics & Decision-Making. Political Economy & Policy Impacts. Financial Economics & Data Science Applications. Sustainability & Economic Development. Technological Advancements in Economics. Fintech and Trade Finance Chains and Production. Women’s Labour Force Participation. Informality and Labour Market Segmentation. Skill Premiums and Sectoral Shifts. While interdisciplinary perspectives are welcome, papers must maintain a strong economic foundation. These are broad topics for the papers, which participants may follow while choosing their specific research questions. However, they are not binding, and participants are free to explore other relevant areas.
Important Notes: Failure to adhere to the guidelines will result in disqualification. Papers must be original and free from plagiarism.
Prizes: Top 3 papers will be published in Ecolloquial, the annual journal of the Department of Economics. Cash Prizes (amounts to be disclosed soon).
