What if you were given limited resources and asked to help shape India’s journey towards a ₹5 trillion economy? ₹5
Trillion: The Economic Trade-Off is a multi-stage economics simulation and case competition that challenges participants to make strategic decisions under scarcity, navigate uncertainty, negotiate resources, and ultimately build a viable economic strategy. Starting with an online economics quiz, shortlisted teams will receive a common pool of economic resources and decide how to allocate them across key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure & energy, human capital, technology & innovation, and trade. Their choices will form an economic portfolio that carries forward through the competition. But the economy doesn't stay still. Teams will face market disruptions, strategic opportunities and a Black Swan Event , forcing them to reassess their strategies and trade resources with other teams. They will need to buy, sell or barter resources while responding to changing economic conditions. The competition culminates in The ₹5T Blueprint , where teams must use the resources, budget and strategic advantages they have accumulated to tackle a contemporary Indian economic challenge and present their solution to a judging panel. This isn't about finding the one "correct" answer. It's about making the right trade-offs when resources are limited and the rules keep changing.
Guidelines: The competition will consist of four rounds. The first two rounds will be held online, while the final two rounds will take place on campus. Outstation students who qualify for the final rounds will need to make the necessary travel arrangements. All rounds are eliminative.
Rules: Each team should consist of one to three members. Open to undergraduate students from all academic years. Inter-college and inter-discipline teams are allowed. An individual cannot be part of more than one team.
