Finance Club: Stake to Success

Stake to Success is a two-stage, team-based finance event. Teams of 3-4 members from the same institution first compete across a 3-round quiz (Beginner, Intermediate, and a fund-building Hard round), then enter into an Investment Portfolio stage where they allocate capital across companies and present their reasoning.

Guidelines: Open to all UG and PG students; participation is team-based only, with each team consisting of 3-4 members from the same institution. Team composition cannot be changed after registration, and teams must bring their own laptops. Stage 1 (Quiz) runs across 3 rounds of increasing difficulty — Beginner, Intermediate, and Hard — and teams must qualify in each round to advance. Qualification criteria for Round 1 are revealed on the event day. In Round 3 (Hard), teams choose one sector — Stock Market, Corporate Finance, Current Affairs, or others — and answer 10 questions from that area, starting with a fund of ₹20,00,000. Correct answers add ₹1,00,000 and wrong answers deduct ₹1,00,000 per question; all 10 questions must be answered. The fund a team ends Round 3 with becomes their investable capital for Stage 2 (Investment Portfolio). Stage 2 gives teams 1.5 hours to allocate their fund across companies and prepare a PowerPoint presentation justifying each choice. Quiz Rounds 1 & 2 are evaluated on accuracy and speed; Round 3 on final fund amount; the Investment Portfolio on allocation quality, clarity, logic, and relevance of reasoning. The decision of the judges, quizmaster, and organising committee is final and binding, and organisers reserve the right to change the event format if required. Rules Team must have 3-4 members, all from the same institution, fixed at registration. All 10 questions in Round 3 must be answered; each correct answer is +₹1,00,000 and each wrong answer is −₹1,00,000. Investable capital in Stage 2 equals the exact fund balance carried forward from Round 3 — no additional funds are provided. Presentation format must be PowerPoint, clearly outlining allocations and justification for each company or asset chosen. Terms and conditions apply, as specified by the organising committee.
