Hack the North is Canada's biggest hackathon, taking place September 18-20, 2026. This in-person event brings together 1,000+ students of different skill levels from around the world to experiment and create unique software or hardware projects from scratch.
The event empowers teams to build something great in only 36 hours by providing an abundance of resources, including workshops, mentors, sponsors, and hardware. Participants can form teams of up to four people with no restrictions on school, country, or experience level; teams may be formed before or during the event at their own discretion.
Hack the North is designed to lower barriers to entering tech, offering a space where everyone can learn, build, and dream bigger. The organizers cover food, help with travel expenses, and provide lodging so attendees can focus on turning their ideas into reality.
