HackGB 2026 is UWGB's premier 24-hour collegiate hackathon, inviting over 200 students to the STEM Innovation Center to build, learn, and innovate. The event's mission is to foster innovation and community in Green Bay, creating an environment where every hacker can rise like the Phoenix.
Participants can choose from specific tracks to guide their projects. The Environment & Sustainability track challenges hackers to develop solutions aimed at resource conservation, clean energy, and climate action, tackling real-world ecological issues with modern digital tools.
The event brings together top engineers, founders, and local leaders to host keynotes, workshops, and mentorship sessions. The schedule includes check-in and registration at the STEM Innovation Center, an opening ceremony at Wood Hall, and the official start of hacking in the Phoenix Room B & C (University Union). Workshops by Modal and GDE will also take place at the University Union.
Eligibility: The hackathon is open to all university students and recent graduates (within 12 months).
Travel & Reimbursement: To receive travel stipends, participants must check in physically at the event and submit a functional project to the official Devpost gallery by Sunday morning. HackGB is committed to accessibility; those with specific travel needs or accessibility requirements are encouraged to note them during registration.
Location: HackGB takes place at the Brown County STEM Innovation Center on the UW-Green Bay campus, located on the shores of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
