A hackathon is a marathon software product creation event. At HackPrinceton, you can look forward to guest speakers, helpful workshops, skilled mentors, fun games, and great swag.
HackPrinceton will take place in person at Princeton University from November 13 through November 15, 2026. It will include 36 hours of hacking, events, speakers, social events, and more.
Who Can Participate Applicants must be matriculated in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university. There is no separate age minimum; the event is open to students currently enrolled in these programs. You do not need a team to apply or participate. Teams may have up to four members, and there will be opportunities to meet other hackers at team formation events.
Themes and Tracks Come build with us. Bring an idea and build it here. Specific themes include: * Make learning more accessible, personal, and engaging. * Explore tools for students, educators, and lifelong learners.
Format and Experience Beyond the learning opportunities and mentorship workshops, HackPrinceton is a great place to meet other hackers who are as passionate and enthusiastic about building as you are. The event features guest speakers, such as Stephen Wolfram (Founder and CEO of Wolfram Research), along with prizes and surprises for attendees.
Cost and Logistics There is no cost to apply or participate in HackPrinceton. We want to make the event accessible to everyone who is interested. Some admitted hackers may receive a travel stipend that covers part of their travel expenses; otherwise, we suggest looking for funding through your university.
Everyone at HackPrinceton must help maintain a safe, welcoming, and respectful event. The MLH Code of Conduct explains the behavior expected and how to report harassment or other concerns.
