HR Club: Crisis simulation-The HR Escape Room

The HR Crisis Challenge simulates high-stakes, real-world corporate human resource emergency situations. Participating teams must protect organizational talent, culture, and corporate reputation while making rapid, ethical, evidence-based decisions.

Eligibility: Open to inter-college undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Participation Type: Team Participation.

Team Size: Minimum 3 – Maximum 5 members per team.

Team Composition: Inter-specialization team members are allowed. All rounds are mandatory; elimination occurs based on cumulative scoring after Round 1. The competition consists of two distinct rounds involving escape-room case-solving, HR case analysis, and executive boardroom presentation.

Event Format: Round 1 –

Crisis Simulation: The HR Escape Room An immersive, time-bound HR crisis simulation designed to test analytical thinking, clue interpretation, and strategic decision-making. Phase A – Analysis & Clue Hunting Teams enter an immersive HR Escape Room and receive a confidential HR crisis dossier. Solve layered puzzle clues under strict time pressure to unlock evidence, critical case data, and hidden information. Use the unlocked evidence to determine the full scope, stakeholders, and immediate risks of the crisis. Phase B – Strategy Development Analyze organizational vulnerabilities and assess workforce impact. Prioritize people, business-continuity, and reputation risks. Craft a comprehensive Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) response plan based on the evidence uncovered. Round 2 – The Boardroom Defense The top qualifying teams enter the final stage to present their action plans, key findings, and strategic conclusions before an executive panel of judges acting as the Corporate Board of Directors .

Live Boardroom Challenge: Teams face a high-stakes surprise crisis dilemma. They must defend their proposed HR strategy and respond to the evolving crisis. Judges evaluate teams on strategic clarity, feasibility, adaptability, crisis management, and communication.

Final Round: Executive Presentation + Live Crisis Questions + Rigorous Q&A Teams must demonstrate their ability to think strategically, adapt under pressure, and defend their decisions before the judging panel.
