Mark your calendars and be part of the magic of techFEST'26 at SLIET. KRITRIM – Working Model About the Event KRITRIM is a Working Model event where teams design and build functional prototypes to solve real-world problems using modern technological solutions. The model or prototype must be in working condition during the presentation before the judging committee. Teams must demonstrate how their model operates and explain how it produces the intended results. Along with the working model, participants must submit a hard copy of a detailed report containing: Main Concept of the Solution Working Principle Construction Materials Cost Estimation of the Project Applications Circuit Diagram / 3D Design (if applicable) Code Flowchart or Working Logic (if applicable) Participants may optionally integrate AI/Machine Learning features into their projects to enhance their solutions. Relevant implementation of AI/ML may also provide additional value during evaluation. Problem Statements IoT-Based Medicine Reminder Box Design a smart medicine reminder system that alerts patients to take medicine on time and notifies family members if a dose is missed. Useful for elderly and chronic patients. Soil Nutrient Indicator (Basic NPK + Moisture) Develop a low-cost device that measures soil moisture and gives a basic indication of major nutrients (N, P, K) to guide farmers on fertilizer use. Crop Leaf Disease Detection Build a system that can identify common diseases in crop leaves and provide basic suggestions for early action. Pet (Dog & Cat) Activity and Location Tracker Create a wearable tracking system for dogs and cats that monitors location and activity and alerts the owner in case of unusual behavior or if the pet goes out of range. Smart Water Quality Monitoring System Design a system that monitors important water quality parameters and indicates whether the water is safe for use. Home Automation System Develop a system that allows users to control home appliances such as lights, fans, and other devices remotely with status feedback. Emotion-Aware Study Companion for Students Create a study companion device that can sense a student's emotional state, such as stress, boredom, or focus, and respond with helpful feedback or environmental changes. Sensor-Based Musical Instrument Design a contactless musical instrument using multiple sensors that generates different musical notes based on hand position and movement. IoT-Based Public Toilet Cleanliness and Usage Monitor Develop a monitoring system for public toilets that tracks usage and detects cleanliness levels to notify maintenance staff at the right time.
