Overview: NAKSHATRA is an aerospace-focused hackathon organised by the Aerospace Club, Madhav Institute of Technology & Science (MITS), Gwalior, bringing together students to innovate and solve challenges across space, astronomy, aeronautics, and aerospace technology. The hackathon will provide participants with an opportunity to develop innovative solutions through two dedicated tracks — Software and Hardware.
Competition Format: Round 1 — PPT
Submission Round: The first round will evaluate participants based on their understanding of the selected aerospace problem statement and their proposed approach towards solving it. Teams will be required to submit a PPT presenting their proposed solution.
Instructions: Teams can choose one problem statement from either the Software or Hardware track. The PPT must present the proposed solution clearly and effectively. Detailed PPT format and submission instructions will be communicated to registered participants. Shortlisted teams will qualify for the Final Round. Round 2 —
Final Hackathon: The top 50 shortlisted teams from Round 1 will participate in the 12-hour offline Final Hackathon. The Final Round will be conducted on 24–25 October 2026 at the MITS campus, Gwalior.
Participation Guidelines: Open to college/university students.
Team Size: 2–4 members. Inter-college teams are allowed. Inter-specialisation/branch teams are allowed. Teams can participate in either the Software or Hardware track. Each team can select one problem statement from either track. Each track will feature aerospace-specific problem statements. Shortlisted teams will advance to the offline Final Round. Further instructions for the Final Round will be shared with shortlisted participants.
Rules: Each participant can be a member of only one team. Each team must consist of 2–4 members. Teams must select and work on one problem statement only. The submitted solution must be the team's own work. Plagiarism, copying, impersonation, or misrepresentation may result in disqualification. Participants must submit their PPT within the specified deadline. Shortlisted teams must participate in the offline Final Round at the MITS campus. Participants must follow all instructions and guidelines issued by the organising team. The decision of the judging panel will be final. The organisers reserve the right to modify the schedule or rules if required. Any changes will be communicated to participants.
