Next Byte Hacks is a student-run hackathon where builders come together to design, code, and pitch a working project in a single weekend. Whether you're writing your first line of code or shipping your fifth side project, participants will form a team, get mentorship, and walk away with something real to show for it.
What to Build Participants must build a working software project (web app, mobile app, game, hardware hack, or anything in between) that they and their team create during the hackathon. Projects should be started from scratch during the event.
What to Submit Teams must submit their project on Devpost with a description of what it does, the technology used, and a link to their public code repository. A short demo video or screenshots are strongly encouraged.
Prizes The hackathon awards prizes for 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place. Additionally, every participant who submits a project receives a digital certificate of participation.
Judging Criteria Projects are evaluated based on: * Creativity: How original and inventive is the idea behind the project? * Technical Execution: How well was the project built? Does it work as intended and use the tech stack effectively? * Design & User Experience: How polished, intuitive, and user-friendly is the final product? * Impact: How meaningful is the real-world problem this project addresses, and how well does it solve it?
