About the Event Rapid Line is a high-speed robotics competition where teams design, build and race a fully autonomous Line Follower Robot (LFR) to navigate a pre-laid track in the shortest time possible. Speed, precision and stability are critical. The robot must autonomously handle turns, crossovers, gaps and surface variations without any manual control. Constraints Dimensions: maximum 25 cm × 25 cm × 25 cm

Weight: no strict limit, provided it does not damage the track surface

Power supply: onboard battery systems only (LiPo, Li-ion or NiMH up to 12 V). External adapters or tethered power are strictly prohibited.

Control: 100% autonomous onboard operation. No wired or wireless (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/RF) communication during the run.

Locomotion: wheels or continuous tracks only

Sensors: onboard line sensors (IR/optical preferred)

Chassis: must be stable, well-balanced and completely self-contained Arena & Track

Track elements: 90° turns, acute curves, zig-zags, T-junctions, cross intersections, dead ends, line gaps (brief line disappearances), colour patches and optional slight inclines Rules and Regulations – General Rules All participants must carry a valid college ID card and their techFEST'26 registration receipt. Reporting time will be communicated to registered teams; late reporting may lead to a walkover. The decision of the judges and organisers will be final and binding in all matters. Any form of misconduct, plagiarism or use of unfair means will lead to immediate disqualification. Participants are responsible for their own equipment and personal belongings. Organisers reserve the right to modify any rule/specification at any time; updates will be announced at the venue.

Team size: 1–3 members per team. Eligibility Diploma and undergraduate students of any year from any recognised engineering institution. Participation certificates will be awarded to all valid entries. Teams must arrive promptly at their assigned slots; late reporting may result in forfeiture. Teams competing in multiple events are advised to assign distinct operators to prevent scheduling conflicts. Intentional damage to the track or interference with competing robots will lead to immediate disqualification. Official decisions made by the coordinator regarding scores, technical checks and disputes are final and binding. The organising committee reserves the right to make adjustments to the rules or track setup to maintain fairness; participants are expected to keep checking the official Problem Statement.
