Category: Open to All Event Description Robo-War is a competitive robotics combat challenge at TechTrix'26, where teams bring a ready-to-compete, battery-powered, wirelessly controlled robot built for arena combat. Participants must use kinetic energy, robust armor, and driving strategy to immobilize or outlast their opponents, testing their robot's engineering, control, durability, strategy, and combat capability in a one-on-one battle. Guidelines Team Size & Eligibility 3 participants per team Open to all participants Valid institutional/college ID is mandatory Only registered participants may compete; one participant cannot be part of two teams for the same event Team composition cannot be changed after the registration deadline without written approval from the Event Coordinator The registered team captain is the official point of contact Robot Specifications Specification Limit Maximum Dimensions 500 × 500 × 500 mm (L × B × H), including attachments, armor, and resting weapons Maximum Weight 60 kg, including all batteries, armor, and transmitters Maximum Operating Voltage 6S LiPo, 24V DC/6s (fully charged) Control Dual-frequency wireless remote control (pre-built or custom transmitter/receiver pairs permitted) Power Onboard battery power only — no external power sources, and no battery swaps during a match Permitted Weapon Systems Cutters, saws, flippers, lifting devices, spinning hammers, and kinetic drums Spinning weapons must come to a complete stop within 60 seconds of power being removed Spring-loaded/flywheel mechanisms must never be loaded outside the arena and must auto-revert to a safe, uncocked position if radio contact or power is lost Strictly Prohibited Flamethrowers and fire-based weapons (including butane/propane ignition) Liquid projectiles, foam, liquefied gases, or flammable liquids Pneumatic and hydraulic (pressurized gas) systems Magnetic devices, electrical shock weapons, EMPs, or RF-jamming devices Entangling devices (chains, ropes, nets, loose fabrics) designed to snag the opponent's drivetrain or weapons Explosives and pyrotechnics Any mechanism posing an unreasonable risk to spectators, officials, or other teams Pre-Event Inspection & Safety Audit Teams must report at least 30 minutes before the official start time Battery terminals must be heavily protected from short circuits, punctures, and fire hazards — failure to adequately armor batteries results in immediate disqualification Every robot undergoes a strict technical and safety inspection, including dimension, weight, voltage, battery, control, and safety checks; weapon systems must be demonstrated to the technical panel before the match A robot deemed unsafe by the judges will not be allowed to compete Match Format 1v1 combat (the arena may host 2–4 robots simultaneously depending on total registrations) A full match consists of 2 rounds of 5 minutes each Arena layout, floor material, and boundaries are revealed only at the venue on the day A robot ejected, pushed, or thrown completely out of the arena is immediately eliminated from that round If robots become permanently entangled or trapped, the referee pauses the match to manually separate and reset them A robot unable to move at least one inch within 20 seconds is declared immobile and loses the round/match (partial mobility, e.g. one disabled drivetrain side that can still rotate/crawl, is not disqualifying) A critical safety failure (e.g., breached armor with batteries catching fire) results in immediate disqualification, with the opponent declared winner Continuous pinning or lifting must not exceed 20 seconds; the referee may order separation Judging Criteria If multiple robots survive the full 5-minute round, the winner is decided by an accumulated point system awarded by judges during active combat:

Sustained Pinning: +1 point for pinning an opponent against the arena wall for a continuous 20 seconds (attacking robot must then release and back off, or risk disqualification)
Successful Flip/Lift: +1 point for completely flipping an opponent's robot over (even with a self-righting mechanism)
Significant Damage: +2 points for tearing off an opponent's armor panel, disabling their active weapon, or causing visible structural damage Disqualification The following will result in disqualification: Exceeding the published dimensions, weight, or voltage limits Failure to adequately armor battery terminals Use of any strictly prohibited weapon or mechanism Critical safety failure during a match (e.g., exposed batteries catching fire) External assistance, use of another team's hardware/software, or tampering with another team's equipment Cheating, plagiarism, misconduct, or misrepresentation of identity Deliberate damage to venue/property Poor social conduct, misbehaviour, foul language, or intent
