About the Event RoboWars – The Battle Bot Competition Welcome to RoboWars, a thrilling competition where ingenuity meets mechanical prowess. Get ready to witness the ultimate clash of robots as they battle for supremacy. This rulebook covers design specifications, competition rules, arena layout and the grand prizes awaiting the victors. Task – Design & Build The primary task is to design and construct a robot capable of competing in a head-to-head battle with other robots. The design should emphasise both offensive and defensive capabilities. Program the robot to execute specific commands, navigate the arena, identify opponents and attack strategically. Your robot will participate in a series of battles. The objective is to outmanoeuvre, disable or otherwise defeat your opponent within a set time limit. Design Specifications Dimensions & Weight No restrictions on bot dimensions.
Weight categories: 5 kg and 3 kg (conducted only if there are more than 3 teams); includes all components except the remote controller. Prohibited Mechanisms Pneumatic, hydraulic and electric lifter systems are not allowed.
Mobility Allowed: Rolling (wheels, tracks) Non-wheeled systems (e.g., linear-actuated legs) Manually operated jumping/hopping (maximum height: 6 ft)

Usage Rules: No battery changes during matches. Teams must have sufficient spare batteries.
Team Guidelines Team size: maximum 5 members; members can be from different institutes. Must have a unique and appropriate team name. All communication must be through the registered team leader. Updates will be shared via email/SMS.
Abstract Submission Written abstract: Include diagrams, specifications (motors, batteries, etc.) and mechanisms.
Video abstract: Minimum 1-minute unedited video showcasing performance.

Walls: 12 mm bulletproof polycarbonate
Top: 6 mm bulletproof polycarbonate sheet for protection
Standard size: 16 ft × 16 ft × 6.5 ft (L × B × H), or 32 ft × 32 ft × 12 ft (L × B × H) Arena might include functional elements. Alternatively, a regular hexagonal shape with an edge of 1 m may be used as an open arena. Specifications such as dimensions, pressure limits and polycarbonate thickness are subject to change based on available infrastructure and equipment. Updates will be shared accordingly.
Victory Criteria Win Conditions: Opponent is rendered immobile (no motion beyond 1 inch in 10 seconds). Opponent is ejected from the arena. Judges render their verdict based on aggression, control and inflicted damage.
Disqualifications: Unsafe bots, failure to adhere to deadlines or rule violations will lead to disqualification. Rules and Regulations – General Rules All participants must carry a valid college ID card and their techFEST'26 registration receipt. Reporting time will be communicated to registered teams; late reporting may lead to a walkover. The decision of the judges and organisers will be final and binding in all matters. Any form of misconduct, plagiarism or use of unfair means will lead to immediate disqualification. Participants are responsible for their own equipment and personal belongings. Organisers reserve the right to modify any rule/specification at any time; updates will be announced at the venue.
