Securathon is a cybersecurity-oriented hackathon conducted by DevC and Hackelite, where participants will identify and solve real-world cybersecurity problems by designing and implementing practical software solutions. Participants can choose to build a project in one of three tracks, each with a score multiplier: Regular projects - build a project based on a domain/problem statement provided, like any other Hackathon (Multiplier = 1x) Cybersecurity-oriented projects - build a project utilizing cybersecurity concepts like cryptography or blockchain (Multiplier = 1.2x) Reverse-engineered exploit - reverse-engineer existing closed-source software to find and demonstrate novel, unpublished vulnerabilities or exploits (Multiplier = 1.5x) Each project will be scored internally by the judging panel from 0-100, and your final score will be the project score x track multiplier. You will be ranked based on the final score and winners will be decided based on these ranks. For example, if your project gets a score of 50, and it is of the Cybersec track, your final score will be 50 * 1.2 = 60. Use of AI to build these projects is allowed, but you are expected to be able to explain your solution and architecture. Why this event? In an increasingly interconnected digital world, sophisticated data breaches and emerging cyber threats have made security an essential part of modern software development. Many software projects prioritize rapid feature development and deployment, often leaving applications vulnerable to fundamental security weaknesses. Securathon aims to address this gap by encouraging participants to adopt a "security-by-design" mindset. Through the practical application of robust cryptographic algorithms and adherence to OWASP Top 10 guidelines, participants will work on real-world security challenges and build solutions that prioritize confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and resilience. The event aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical cybersecurity engineering while equipping participants with skills required to develop inherently secure digital infrastructure. Judging Criteria Projects will primarily be evaluated on: Track-specific parameters Technical Implementation & Design Real-World Relevance Overall Quality of the Project Registration Fees Securathon
