ShellHacks is Florida's largest hackathon, an ultimate tech experience where over 1,400 students from across the state and around the world come together to build, network, and learn. Since 2017, this weekend-long event has brought thousands of participants together to develop innovative projects, connect with top companies, and master the latest technologies.
The ShellHacks experience is designed to be inclusive for everyone. Students from all academic backgrounds and skill levels are welcome, whether they have never coded before or live and breathe AI/ML. In fact, about half of the attendees every year are first-time hackers. To support beginners, the event provides introductory workshops to learn technical skills, resources and tools to help build a project, and industry mentors to guide participants every step of the way.
Participation is completely free for all accepted students, made possible by generous donations from sponsors. Eligible participants include students and recent graduates (up to one year) from any college, university, or coding bootcamp. Those who are not students can still join the experience as mentors or volunteers.
