About techFEST'26 techFEST 2026 is North India's premier technical festival, organised as part of techFEST'26 - Annual Technology Festival of SLIET. Showcase your talent, compete with the sharpest minds and earn your prizes.
Event Overview: SM-Agri is a field-to-prototype innovation challenge where students engage directly with real agricultural environments before designing their solution. Students will visit live agricultural farms facilitated by the IIC to observe real-world gaps between agriculture and technology. Teams will identify a genuine problem and design a technology-based prototype to address it, aiming to bridge traditional farming practices with modern agri-tech solutions.
Innovation Walk (Field Visit): The IIC will organize two or three innovation walks before the event. Students will observe real-world agricultural situations and identify practical problems. Innovation walk dates, locations, and registration details will be announced from time to time. Teams are encouraged to record observations and interact with workers or farm owners to understand ground realities and finalize their problem statement.
Problem Identification & Scope: Teams must identify a real and specific problem observed during the Innovation Walk. Teams will present the identified problem, proposed solution, and prototype during the TechFEST’26 event.
Expected Deliverables: A physical, functional prototype or working model corresponding to the identified problem. A hard-copy detailed report explaining the problem, proposed solution, and its relevance. A printed schematic or block/system diagram displaying the architecture and flow of the solution. Estimated cost and implementation feasibility for small and medium-sized farmers. A brief oral pitch and live demonstration explaining the design choices, efficiency, and real-world impact.
Team Specification: Each team can have a maximum of 6 members from any institute and any branch. All members must carry a valid ID card from their respective institute. Teams must select a unique team name that is not inappropriate, offensive, or conflicting. Each team must specify a team representative for communication with Team techFEST’26.
Rules And Regulations: Solutions must be based on a genuine problem identified during the Innovation Walk. Fabricated or generic problem statements unrelated to the visit will be penalized under Relevance. Semi-functional or non-functional models may be evaluated with a reduced Working Functionality score instead of being disqualified, at the judges’ discretion. The judges’ decision will be final. Teams must not interfere with other teams or models. Each participant can participate in only one team. Every team member must be involved in the presentation. Participants must maintain decorum throughout the event.
Accommodation and Meals: Registration for the techFEST’26 package is compulsory for accommodation and other perks, while participation in individual events is free*.
