Showcase your talent, compete with the sharpest minds and earn your moment of glory. Decode complex circuit diagrams and identify faults in electrifying challenges. Number of Rounds: 2
Round 1: Screening Quiz Participants will take a theoretical quiz focusing on basic electronic components, circuit diagrams, soldering best practices, and lab safety. This round acts as an elimination phase to ensure participants have the foundational knowledge required for safe and effective practical work.
Round 2: Speedrun Top performers from Round 1 will advance to this practical challenge. Participants will be tasked to solder 10–15 joints on a basic test board. Everyone starts simultaneously with identical, untouched component kits. Top performers will be determined by calculating a combined score of completion time + joint quality.
Scoring and Judging Criteria: Judging will be based on a balance of speed and craftsmanship: Time
Management (Speed): How quickly the participant completes all required solder joints and signals they are finished.
Joint Quality (Accuracy): Inspection of solder joints for proper wetting, ideal "volcano" shape, and absence of cold joints or dry solder.
Circuit Integrity: Ensuring there are no solder bridges (shorts) between adjacent pads or components.
Component Health: Verifying that components and the PCB pads have not been damaged, burned, or lifted due to excessive heat application.
Cleanliness & Safety: Neatness of the final board, proper trimming of component leads, and adherence to safe handling procedures during the event.

General Rules: All participants must carry a valid college ID card and their techFEST'26 registration receipt. Reporting time will be communicated to registered teams; late reporting may lead to walkover. The decision of the judges and organisers will be final and binding in all matters. Any form of misconduct, plagiarism or use of unfair means leads to immediate disqualification. Participants are responsible for their own equipment and personal belongings. Organisers reserve the right to modify any rule at any time; updates are announced at the venue.
