Executive Summary & Objective: To further enrich the academic and technical landscape of CIVICON Techfest 2026, we propose adding a dynamic, competitive, and interactive Civil Engineering Quiz Competition.
Primary Vision: To establish an engaging platform where students can benchmark their fundamental knowledge, solve tricky core civil engineering problems, share technical insights, and foster healthy academic competition. The event is structured in a two-tier format to ensure rigorous screening and high-energy final competition.

Proposed Mode: Hybrid (Online + Offline) Competition
Online Preliminary Round Platform: Online Quiz Portal /
App Format: 15 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Time Duration: Strictly 10
Minutes Core Themes: Fundamentals of Civil Engineering, conceptual mechanisms, basic formulas, material properties, and tricky technical reasoning.
Evaluation Metric: Automated ranking based on Accuracy (Correct Answers) and Speed (Time Elapsed).
Outcome: Top-performing candidates qualify for team formation in Round 2.
Offline Buzzer Finals Venue: On-Campus Auditorium / Seminar Hall
Team Formation: Event Coordinators will group qualified individual candidates into balanced teams of 2 to 4 students.
Format: Live Rapid-Fire & Buzzer Rounds hosted by Quizmasters.
Mechanics: Real-time question pressing, rapid decision making, negative marking for wrong buzzers (optional).

Qualification & Rules: Round 1
Tie-Breaker & Ranking Logic: In Round 1, if two or more participants score equal marks, priority will be strictly awarded to the student with the lower completion time. Accuracy percentage will act as the secondary tie-breaker.
Individual Registration: Participants register individually for Round 1.
Strict Timed Window: The 10-minute timer starts as soon as Round 1 commences. No late submissions will be accepted.
Fair Play Policy: Plagiarism or malicious activity during the online test will lead to immediate disqualification.
Final Round Team Allocation: Organizers reserve full right to form 2–4 member teams from the qualified pool to ensure equal skill distribution.
Expected Outcomes & Impact: Promotes high-speed analytical thinking and rapid decision-making under time constraints. Encourages peer learning and collaboration during the team-based offline final round. Provides faculty and coordinators with clear insights into students' foundational strengths. General Rules: All participants must carry a valid college ID card and their techFEST'26 registration receipt. Reporting time will be communicated to registered teams; late reporting may lead to walkover. The decision of the judges and organisers will be final and binding in all matters. Any form of misconduct, plagiarism or use of unfair means leads to immediate disqualification. Participants are responsible for their own equipment and personal belongings. Organisers reserve the right to modify any rule at any time; updates are announced at the venue.
