About the Competition: Techpreneur is an innovation and entrepreneurship competition conducted as part of the college's annual Tech Fest . The competition challenges students to transform innovative technological ideas into practical solutions for real-world problems. Participants will identify a problem, develop a technology-driven solution, and present their concept from both a technical and business perspective . The competition encourages students to combine engineering knowledge, creativity, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving to create ideas with real-world potential. Whether it is a new product, software solution, smart system, or technology-enabled service, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas before a panel of judges.
Rules: The competition is open to students currently pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate programmes. Participants may register individually or as a team, as specified by the organisers. Each team must have the required number of members as mentioned during registration. The proposed idea must be original and developed by the participating team. Plagiarism, copying, impersonation, or any form of unfair practice will result in disqualification. Participants must adhere to the time limits given for each round. Teams must use their own work and must be able to explain the technical and business aspects of their solution. Participants must follow the instructions provided by the organising committee. Any equipment or resources required for demonstrations must be arranged by the participants unless otherwise specified. The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding. Participants must carry a valid college ID card for verification.
Eligibility: Open to students from recognised engineering colleges and universities. Students from all engineering and technology disciplines are eligible to participate. Students from other academic disciplines may also participate if permitted by the organisers. Participants must be currently enrolled in their respective institution. A valid student ID may be required during registration and verification. Team size will be as specified by the organisers.
Competition Process: Round 1 – Idea Submission Participants will submit their technology-based idea along with a brief description of the problem, proposed solution, target users, and potential impact. Round 2 – Idea Development Shortlisted teams will develop their concept further and prepare a structured presentation covering the technical solution, implementation approach, feasibility, and potential applications. Round 3 – Final Pitch Selected teams will present their solution before a panel of judges. Each team will explain the problem, proposed technology, innovation, implementation plan, and potential real-world impact. The presentation will be followed by a Question & Answer round , where judges may challenge participants on their technical approach, feasibility, scalability, cost, and implementation.
