Overview: The National Students' Space Challenge 2026 brings you Terra Drive, an off-road challenge that puts your engineering and driving skills to the ultimate off-road test. Build a rugged RC-controlled rover capable of navigating rough terrains. Every obstacle demands precise control, stability, traction, and thoughtful design. Adapt to the terrain, overcome the challenges, and prove that your bot has what it takes to conquer the course.
Rules and Regulations: This is a team event open to college students only. Teams can be formed with a team size of 2 to 4 participants. Team members can be from different colleges. Teams must design and remotely operate an RC-controlled bot to successfully navigate the designated obstacle course and reach the finish line. Teams will be judged on multiple parameters, including obstacle completion, precision, control, stability, and overall performance. The top 3 teams will receive cash prizes and goodies. In the event of any dispute, the decision of Team NSSC will be final and binding. ROUND-WISE DETAILS ROUND 1 — QUALIFIER Teams will navigate an obstacle course featuring a specific pattern that the rover has to traverse. The round will test the bot’s maneuverability, stability, and overall control. Performance in this round will determine the teams advancing to the next stage. ROUND 2 — RESOURCE CHALLENGE Qualified teams will navigate a See-Saw Bridge and a Quarter-Circle Ramp while collecting designated resource blocks placed along the course. Collected resources must be successfully delivered to the designated collection zone and will contribute to the team’s score. This round will test precision, stability, control, and strategic decision-making. Additional rounds may be conducted as required to resolve ties or determine the final rankings. Participant IDs: Each participant will get a participant ID in the format 26-xxxxxx (26 followed by 6 digits). Please note that this does NOT constitute the team ID. Participant IDs of all concerned participants have to be submitted on Unstop, separated by commas. Please note that entering your team ID on Unstop is mandatory to be considered for the further selection process . Otherwise, you won't be eligible to qualify for the next rounds, irrespective of your performance in this round.
