Rounds: Round 1: Quiz An economics quiz comprising 15 questions covering general economics, current affairs, and the macroeconomic impact of the Israel-Iran-US conflict, including oil markets, inflation, trade, and monetary policy. The round tests both speed and accuracy. The top 10 teams will qualify for Round 2. Round 2: The Hormuz Ripple Report (Poster Presentation) Qualifying teams will take on the role of a policy research team advising a government on the economic implications of the ongoing US-Iran-Israel conflict, including Strait of Hormuz disruptions, fragile ceasefires, and renewed escalation. Each team will design and present a single poster covering the conflict-to-economy transmission channels, macroeconomic impact assessment, trade and supply chain implications, policy response options, and one second-order economic risk. Posters must be submitted during the event. Rules: Round 1: Quiz The quiz consists of 15 questions to be completed within the allotted time. Questions will cover general economics, current affairs, and the economic impact of the Israel-Iran-US conflict. There is no negative marking. Performance will be evaluated based on accuracy and speed. The top qualifying teams will advance to Round 2. Round 2: The Hormuz Ripple Report (Poster Presentation) Only teams qualifying from Round 1 are eligible to participate. Each team must design one A4-size poster addressing the given brief, including economic transmission channels, macroeconomic impact, policy response options, and one second-order risk. Posters must include at least one chart, diagram, or data visual. Text-only posters will receive lower scores. Teams will receive a fixed preparation window to design or finalise their poster. General Rules: Teams must adhere to all specified time limits. External assistance and the use of unauthorised devices are prohibited during the quiz round. Evaluation will be based on economic knowledge, creativity, clarity of arguments, and strategic thinking. The judges' decision will be final and binding.
