This event is designed for participants who enjoy technology, logical thinking, problem-solving, and programming . It provides an opportunity to compete with talented minds, test your technical abilities, and experience challenges inspired by real-world software development. About the Event Debug & Deploy is a three-round technical competition that takes participants from fundamental technical knowledge to practical programming and debugging. Each round is designed to test a different skill set. Participants will begin by demonstrating their understanding of computer science concepts, move on to a technical word puzzle that challenges their observation and reasoning abilities, and finally enter the Debugger's Arena , where they will identify and fix errors in buggy code. The competition is not just about knowing how to code; it is about understanding problems, thinking logically, identifying errors, and finding effective solutions .
Number of Rounds: 3 Round 1 – Tech Quiz The competition begins with Tech Quiz , a round focused on testing participants' fundamental technical knowledge. Participants will answer multiple-choice questions based on basic computer science and technology concepts . The questions are designed to evaluate conceptual clarity, technical awareness, logical thinking, and understanding of fundamental computing topics. 25 Multiple Choice
Questions (MCQs) Duration: 30 minutes
Coverage: Basic Computer Science and Technology Questions will test conceptual understanding and technical awareness. Participants will be ranked based on their performance. Top scorers will qualify for Round 2. This round provides the foundation for the competition and tests how well participants understand the concepts behind the technology they work with. Round 2 – Word Puzzle The second round, Word Puzzle , challenges participants to combine their technical knowledge with observation, vocabulary, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills . Participants will be presented with a grid containing hidden technical words and terms . The objective is to carefully analyse the grid, identify the relevant technical terms, and find them accurately.

This round tests not only technical familiarity but also attention to detail and the ability to recognise patterns quickly. Round 3 – The Debugger's Arena The final round is The Debugger's Arena , where participants put their practical programming and debugging skills to the test. Participants will encounter a collection of beginner-level buggy code snippets containing common programming mistakes. These may include syntax errors, logical errors, incorrect conditions, or other issues that prevent the program from producing the expected output. The objective is to carefully analyse each program, identify the source of the error, make the necessary corrections, and ensure that the code produces the correct output . 15–20 beginner-level buggy code snippets
Duration: 1.5 hours
Task: Identify and fix errors in the given programs. The corrected programs must produce the required output. The round focuses on debugging ability, logical reasoning, programming fundamentals, and accuracy.
Final Ranking: The overall final ranking will be based solely on performance in Round 3 . This round simulates real-world programming scenarios where developers are often required to analyse existing code, identify problems, and implement precise fixes. Final Challenge The first two rounds will serve as qualification rounds , testing participants' technical knowledge, observation, and problem-solving abilities. The participants who qualify will enter The Debugger's Arena , the decisive final round. Although performance in the first two rounds determines who reaches the finale, the final positions and winners will be decided exclusively by performance in Round 3 . Participants will need to demonstrate not only their ability to understand code but also their ability to think critically, locate errors, implement solutions, and deliver correct results
