Overview Are you ready to step into the shoes of a Product Manager and solve a real-world business problem? THE PM PARADOX is an individual case competition designed to test your product thinking, analytical ability, creativity, and decision-making skills.
Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students from recognized colleges/universities. Participants from all academic disciplines and specializations are eligible. No prior Product Management experience is required.
Registration: Participants must register individually through Unstop. Registration must be completed within the specified deadline. Further instructions regarding the quiz will be shared with registered participants.
Round 1: The PM Quiz The first stage of the competition is a Product Management Quiz designed to test your understanding of core PM concepts.
The quiz may cover: Product Management fundamentals and strategy Market and competitor analysis Product metrics & KPIs Prioritisation frameworks Analytical and logical reasoning Only participants who qualify through the quiz will advance to the next round.
Round 2: The PM Paradox – Case Challenge Participants who qualify through the quiz will receive the problem statement. They will independently analyse the given problem and develop a product-oriented solution. They are expected to demonstrate: Identification of target users User pain points and insights Market/business analysis Product strategy Proposed solution Feature prioritisation Feasibility and scalability Business impact Success metrics/KPIs Participants are encouraged to support their recommendations with relevant data, research, and well-reasoned assumptions.
Round 3: Final Presentation Selected participants from the case submission round will advance to the final round. Finalists will present their solutions before the judges. Each participant will get 7 minutes for the presentation, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A. Participants should be prepared to explain and defend their assumptions, decisions, prioritisation, and proposed solution.
Submission format: PPT/PDF
Maximum number of slides: 12 slides, excluding the cover page/appendix, if applicable. Participants should clearly mention all assumptions made during the analysis. Any external sources, datasets, or research used should be properly cited. Submissions must be uploaded before the specified deadline. Late submissions may not be considered.
