About the Hackathon: VELOHACK'26 is a 24-hour International Hackathon organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Computing, Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology , in association with the IEEE Madras Section . The hackathon brings together talented Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students from across the country to solve real-world challenges through innovation, collaboration, and technology. Participants will work in teams to build impactful solutions, receive mentorship from industry experts, network with fellow innovators, and compete for exciting prizes. Whether you're passionate about AI, software development, IoT, cybersecurity, cloud computing, or product innovation, VELOHACK'26 provides the perfect platform to transform your ideas into reality. Hackathon Tracks: Participants must choose one of the following tracks: EduTech MedTech FinTech Smart Cities Open Innovation Event Format: Round 1 – PPT Submission (Online) All registered teams must submit a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) based on any one of the five hackathon tracks. The PPT must follow the official presentation template. Submissions will be evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, technical approach, and relevance to the selected track. Only shortlisted teams will qualify for the Grand Finale. Round 2 – 24-Hour Offline Hackathon Shortlisted teams will be invited to participate in the 24-hour Grand Finale at Vel Tech University. Eligibility: Open to all Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students from recognized colleges and universities. Students from any branch or discipline are eligible to participate. Team size: 3–4 members. Cross-disciplinary teams are encouraged. Every participant must carry a valid College/University ID card during the offline finale. Each participant can be a member of only one team. Rules & Regulations: Teams must consist of 3–4 members. Every participant must register through Unstop. A participant can be part of only one team. Teams must select only one track during registration. Only shortlisted teams will be eligible for the offline Grand Finale. Only shortlisted teams are required to pay a registration fee of ₹500 per team for the Grand Finale. Teams must develop their solution during the 24-hour hackathon. Open-source libraries, APIs, and frameworks are permitted. However, pre-built or previously developed projects are not allowed. Teams must bring their own laptops, chargers, and any required hardware components. Internet connectivity and power supply will be provided at the venue. Teams must submit all deliverables before the deadline announced by the organizers. Any form of misconduct, cheating, or violation of the code of conduct will result in disqualification. The decision of the judges and organizing committee will be final and binding.
