Participation: Individual Event Description VibeCode Arena is an individual, AI-assisted rapid development challenge where participants transform a given problem statement into a functional digital product within a limited time. Unlike conventional competitive programming, the focus is on building a working product using modern development tools and AI-assisted coding. Participants are evaluated on problem understanding, functionality, UI/UX, creativity, technical execution, and effective use of AI. Guidelines Eligibility & Participation Individual participation only Open to eligible students/participants from academic institutions Valid Institutional ID Card and registration confirmation must be available when requested Participants must report at least 30 minutes before the event Only registered participants may participate Competition Format — one progressive 90-minute challenge, no separate elimination round: Phase Duration Activities 1. Understand 10 min Receive challenge, analyze requirements, plan approach, set up environment 2. Build 55 min Develop and implement the solution using permitted tools 3. Submit 10 min Freeze project, submit repository/demo link, submit AI Usage Declaration 4. Arena Evaluation 15 min Technical verification, live demo, code walkthrough (for selected submissions) Event Schedule 10:30 – 10:50 AM: Reporting, registration verification & system check 10:50 – 11:00 AM: Rules & challenge briefing 11:00 – 11:10 AM: Understand Phase 11:10 AM – 12:05 PM: Build Phase 12:05 – 12:15 PM: Submission 12:15 – 12:30 PM: Arena Evaluation / Final Verification Challenge 1 problem statement, released at the start of the event Participants may be asked to build a website, web app, software utility, dashboard, interactive prototype, or other software-based solution Contains clearly defined core requirements, may include optional/bonus requirements Participants may choose their preferred tech stack unless restricted AI Usage Policy AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Replit AI, and similar) are allowed and are an intentional part of the competition
Permitted uses: code generation/completion, debugging, error analysis, UI generation/styling, architecture suggestions, documentation, testing, refactoring, brainstorming, problem decomposition Participants remain responsible for their submitted work and must be able to explain their major implementation decisions during verification AI Usage Declaration Every participant must submit a declaration with their final submission, covering: AI tools used, purpose of each tool, components substantially assisted by AI, and significant manual work performed Required for transparency — does not itself reduce the participant's score Permitted Tools & Resources AI coding assistants, code editors/IDEs, programming languages/frameworks, standard libraries, official documentation, public package repositories, development APIs, version-control platforms, permitted deployment services Internet access may be permitted for legitimate development purposes; organizers may restrict specific sites/services for fairness or infrastructure security Submission
