YCP Hacks is a 36-hour hackathon where participants work together in teams to create something awesome. You do not need to know how to code or be a supreme hacker; creativity is all that is required. Attendees can receive help from mentors and speakers who will be present throughout the event.
Who Can Participate The event welcomes any college student from anywhere on earth. However, students under the age of 18 cannot attend. Students from outside York College may be asked to attend online if COVID protocols change.
Format and Activities Participants can join team-building activities if they do not have a team, though working alone is also an option. For those who cannot code, there will be tons of workshops and mentors available to help learn and build something amazing. Hardware will be provided for use during the event.
Location and Dates The event will take place at The Willman Business Center of York College from November 6–8, 2026. Free parking is available in the adjacent lot for the entire weekend.
Costs and Benefits Registration is free, as is food and swag. Participants retain 100% of the intellectual property they create during the event. While travel reimbursement is not currently confirmed, it may be offered closer to the event date depending on sponsor availability.
